So we are one week away from the first Original Bucks Fizz single release and how many people outside this group know about it?……..thanks to Michael it’s got one play on BBC radio Newcastle ….. and OBF will be on tv but towards the end of the release week …….and then not actually singing it!!!
To quote Stephen
'we will be using the download figures as an indication of what the live dvd is likely to sell…..so if you want that you need to make sure we get high download figures’… no pressure then!
I had a couple of thoughts:
iTunes has it’s own singles chart, 1-10 published on the front page and 1-200 if you click on ‘all singles’. It changes constantly so it will reflect what is sold each day. If we download new IHT randomly throughout the week it may not make a serious dent in the iTunes chart.
But as it looks like we can only download from iTunes if we agree to do it at the same time on the same day, let’s avoid Monday when all the new stuff is out (I would suggest Tuesday evening 6-9pm), we could punch well above our weight and get a higher entry in the iTunes chart. Bear in mind this isn’t the official UK chart but iTunes has a large share of the market so will be seen by people who don’t know about OBF. An unfamiliar song that gets a high entry should arouse curiosity.
We are all posting to our friends about new IHT.... but it’s still not enough publicity for the single!
Here’s my plan- some dj’s have their own facebook pages, Moyles, Mills, Evans you can join them and post on their walls. These dj’s may not play Bucks Fizz on their shows but if we bombard their facebook pages with requests to play it…and there are 530 members in OBF’S official FB group we could flood the page. Mills for example has 128,747 fans who would find out about ITH’s release and the dj’s themselves would have to at least mention it on air.
Overseas fans would also be able to help us out on this one please!
